Jonatan Svenfors. Soon-to-be father of two, 30 years old and living in Jakobstad.
How and when did you start playing disc golf?
I played disc golf first time the summer of 2020 with a bunch of my friends. After 10 holes (out of 18) we got too hungry and went for burgers instead.
Later the same summer, during my vacation, I bought my first 3 discs and tried the sport “more seriously”. After that I’ve been hooked.
What are your greatest achievments in Disc Golf?
No big achievements yet, but hopefully I’ll get some good competition results this season that I can feel proud of.
Best result outside competition is my -3 round in Laajalahti. It’s currently a 1004 rated round according to Disc Golf Metrix.
The disc golf related achievement (if you can call it an achievement) I’m most proud of so far is that I had the opportunity to be a part of the guys creating Larsmo Disc Golf Course, where I made the graphics for the tee signs and the course map.
What kind of future goals do you have in Disc Golf?
One goal I have this season is to finish top 50 in my class in European Amateur Open. No crazy goals, but I’d rather outperform my goals than aiming too high.
In the future I’m looking forward to being able to play disc golf with my kids and share the hobby with them. Hopefully they’ll enjoy being out in the woods as much as I have.
Favourite disc?
Latitude 64 Grand Grace is the one I feel most comfortable with, and which I throw the farthest.
I’ve got a few new ones in the bag that feels good. So, we’ll have to see what it looks like in the end of the season.
A secret skill outside of Disc Golf?
Using a keyboard I’ve written the Swedish alphabet in 2,8 seconds, and the English in 2,2 seconds.
Your motto?
Always make sure to be in a better mood after a round than you were before. Or at least not worse!
